STATE GRANTS BENEFIT LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS
Representative Barbara L’Italien says State Grants Totaling $16,010.00 will go to Schools and Non-Profit Cultural Groups in this District
BOSTON – Representative Barbara L’Italien (D-Andover) announced today that a total of $16,010.00 in state funds has been granted to cultural organizations in her district by the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). Representative L’Italien said that these grants support a variety of cultural activities in the area. The announcement was made as a part of a statewide granting program by the MCC.
Local funding recipients in this round of grants are as follows:
• Organizational Support, $3.35 million
Organizational Support is the largest of MCC’s funding programs. It provides matching grants to support the public programs and services of cultural organizations statewide. Each Organizational Support grant represents an investment in the future of a nonprofit cultural organization – and in the community that organization exists to serve.
Addison Gallery of American Art – $6,000
Andover Chamber Music Series, Inc. – $2,000
Andover Historical Society – $4,730
New England Classical Singers, Inc. – $3,280
“I am very proud of the organizations here who have been recognized as outstanding by the MCC,” Representative L’Italien said. “We should all take pride in the fact that cities and towns in this region and throughout Massachusetts have vibrant cultural organizations of all sizes”.
MCC will award grants to artists and cultural economic development projects under the Adams Arts Program in early 2006.
